Sven-Ingvars, a Swedish pop-rock and dansband group formed in 1956 in
Slottsbron, Grums, Sweden, began with Sven Svärd on drums, Ingvar Karlsson on
electric guitar and accordion, and Sven-Erik Magnusson on vocals, guitar,
clarinet and saxophone, who became the band’s front figures. Their first public
appearance at Folkets Hus in Segmon earned them a fee of 172 kronor and
introduced the audience to a rendition of Rock Around the Clock featuring
Magnusson’s clarinet, Karlsson’s accordion and Svärd’s drums. The band’s
