Suburban Tribe was a Finnish alternative metal band from Helsinki, formed in
1992. Members included Janne Joutsenniemi, Roope Sirén, Alec Hirst-Gee, and
Ville Tuomi. Initially known as Sub-Urban Tribe, the group performed with Tuomi
before he joined Kyyria. Tuomi was replaced by Jouni Markkanen. The band
released the debut album Primitive in 1994. The second album, Purity (1995),
included the recording “Sirkuksessa”, which received the award for best Finnish
