Stray Dog, a blues-based hard rock band from Texas, formed in 1973. Initially
known as Aphrodite, they moved to Denver, Colorado, before signing with
Manticore Records through connections with Neville Chesters and Greg Lake. Their
debut album Stray Dog was released in 1973, followed by While You’re Down There
in 1974, which featured new members Tim Dulaine and Luis Cabaza. The band
disbanded in 1975 after releasing two studio albums. Post-disbandment, guitarist
W.G. Snuffy Walden wrote theme songs for television programs such as
thirtysomething and The West Wing.
