Στράτος Παγιουμτζής (Stratos Pagioumtzis), born in 1904 in Ayvalık, Asia Minor,
was a Greek rebetiko singer who migrated to Greece before the Greco-Turkish war
of 1919–1922 and settled in Piraeus. He began his professional singing career in
the late 1920s, with his first recordings appearing in 1933. In 1934, he
co-founded the rebetiko quartet I Tetras i Xakousti tou Peiraios (The Famed
Quartet of Piraeus). Pagioumtzis recorded over 400 songs, including notable
tracks like "Γιατί μικρούλα μου / Με τις μυρωδιές σου" and "Ξανθιά τρελή
γαλανομάτα / Τα βράδια στο Βοτανικό". He died o...
