Stone City Band
Stone City Band, the backing band for Rick James, was put together by the singer
in the 1970s, with early members including Peter Hodgson on bass, Ed Roth on
keyboards, Danny Marks on guitar, Malcolm Tomlinson on drums and vocals, and
Rick James on vocals. Stone City Band played on hits such as "You and I", "Super
Freak", and "Mary Jane" during the late 1970s and received their first recording
credit on the 1978 album, Come Get it! In 1980, the band released Rick James
