Roland Stephen Taylor, known as Steve Taylor, was born on December 9, 1957, in
Brawley, California. He is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, music
executive, filmmaker, assistant professor, and actor. Taylor's musical journey
began during his high school years at Northglenn High School. His breakthrough
came when he was signed to Sparrow Records by Billy Ray Hearn in 1982 after
performing at the Christian Artists' Music Seminar. Taylor released his debut
