Steve Ashley, born on March 9, 1946, in Perivale, London, England, is an English
singer-songwriter, recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, writer, and graphic
designer. In his early teens, Ashley immersed himself in rock 'n' roll, blues,
and American folk music. By 1962, he performed in various bands and folk clubs,
focusing on English traditional folksong. He formed the Albion Country Band with
Ashley Hutchings and other notable musicians in 1972, but the band disbanded
