Steady B, born Warren Sabir McGlone on 17 September 1969 in the United States,
emerged from Philadelphia’s burgeoning hip‑hop scene as a rapper who would soon
be remembered for both his early recordings and later legal troubles. He first
gained attention in 1985 with a series of 12" singles on the Pop Art label,
including "Take Your Radio" and "Fly Shanté", which positioned him alongside
contemporaries such as Schoolly D and the Fresh Prince. In 1986 he released his
debut album What's My Name, which reached number 40 on the Top R&B/Hip‑Hop
