Stanley Allison Rogers, known as Stan Rogers, and born on November 29, 1949, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, was a folk musician and songwriter. He grew up in Binbrook, Ontario, and spent his summers in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia, which influenced his music. Rogers began singing at a young age and received his first guitar at five. He started his musical career by signing with RCA Records in 1970. In 1976, he released his debut album Fogarty's Cove, which focused on maritime life and became an immediate success.
