Spencer Wiggins
Spencer Wiggins, born January 8, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, was an American
soul and gospel singer. Encouraged by his parents to engage with music from a
young age, Wiggins formed a gospel group with his siblings while attending
Booker T. Washington High School. In the early 1960s, he began performing in
local clubs and was discovered by Quinton Claunch, head of Goldwax Records. His
first single "Lover's Crime" was released in 1965, followed by several more
singles for the label, including "Up Tight Good Woman" (1967) and "I Never Loved
