Space
Space was a Liverpool-based English band formed in 1992 by vocalist, bassist and
guitarist Tommy Scott, formerly of The Australians, and guitarist Jamie Murphy,
with drummer Jamie Island initially; Island was soon replaced by Andy Parle. The
group's first single, "If Its Real", appeared in 1993, followed by their first
release for Gut Records, "Money", in 1995. It was the 1996 single "Female of the
Species" that first propelled the band into the UK Top Forty, with the earlier
single "Neighbourhood" reaching the Top Forty only on re-issue, and the two
singles helped earn a platinu...
