Søren Svenninggaard, known professionally as Søren Sko, was born on July 4,
1963, in Aalborg, Denmark. He began his musical journey after moving to Hammel
at age nine. Søren Sko's breakthrough came when he met guitarist Palle Torp
while performing at Aarhus University. Together they formed the duo Sko/Torp in
1989, releasing their debut album On a Long Lonely Night in 1990, which sold
over 200,000 copies and won them the Danish Music Awards for Danish Singer of
