Sonora Carruseles is a Colombian salsa group formed in Medellín in 1995 that
emerged from the musical vision of Mario Rincón Pachanga, former musical
director at Discos Fuentes. The ensemble quickly adopted a retro 1970s salsa
aesthetic while revitalizing Boogaloo and incorporating cumbias into its
repertoire. After releasing their first album in 1995, they released
¡Tropicaliente! in 1997, establishing the group’s signature blend of traditional
