Somethin' Smith & the Redheads
Somethin' Smith and the Redheads were an American vocal group formed at the
University of California, Los Angeles, in 1955. The trio consisted of Robert
Hugh Robinson, Saul Striks, and Major Short. They achieved professional success
with the single “It's a Sin to Tell a Lie” (1955), which reached number 7 on the
Billboard Hot 100 chart. They followed this with the single “In a Shanty in Old
Shanty Town” (1956), which peaked at number 27. Both tracks were released on the
