Soapkills, formed in October 1997 by Zeid Hamdan and Yasmine Hamdan, blended
classical Arabic melodies with electronic music. The group's early sound made
use of a Roland MC‑303 Groovebox, a sound that would define the group. Their
debut album Bater was released in 2001, followed by Cheftak (2002) and Enta Fen
(2005). The duo’s tracks appeared in Lebanese films such as A Perfect Day (2005)
and the short Des chaussures? (2006). In 2015, the compilation The Best Of
Soapkills consolidated their catalog, while both members pursued solo projects;
Yasmine Hamdan released Ya Nass and Ze...
