Damon Smith, known as Smoothe Da Hustler, was an African-American rapper born on
February 8, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York. His career began with The Notorious
B.I.G.'s 1994 Ready to Die tour and the independent release of "Broken Language"
in 1995, which earned a 'Hip Hop Quotable' in The Source. This led to a deal
with Profile Records and the release of his debut album, Once Upon A Time In
America (1996), which peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200. The album
