Sid Bass, born January 22, 1913 in New York City, was an American composer and
conductor. He studied music at New York University and served in the Army Air
Corps conducting bands. In 1950, Bass became the musical director of Jubilee
Records, arranging songs for artists like The Orioles. He joined Carlton Records
as musical director in February 1961. Notable works include orchestrating Gale
Garnett's 1964 hit album My Kind of Folk Songs, which featured the Number 5 hit
"We'll Sing in the Sunshine", and arranging The Four Seasons' early hits like
"Sherry" and "Big Girls Don't Cry"...
