Shye Ben Tzur, born in 1975 in New York, United States, is an Israeli musician,
composer, singer, and poet. Initially inspired by Indian classical music after
attending a concert by Hariprasad Chaurasia and Zakir Hussain in Jerusalem, he
traveled to India to study traditional Sufi Qawwali music. His debut album
Heeyam was released in 2003, featuring traditional Sufi Qawwali singers
performing in Hebrew. In 2010, his second album Shoshan received critical
acclaim, ranking number 10 in Songlines world music magazine and number 5 album
of the year for non-Bollywood music by Times of...
