Shuya Okino (born February 21, 1967) is a Japanese DJ, producer, and writer,
widely recognized as a key figure in the development of club jazz and crossover
music. Born in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, he graduated from Ryukoku University in
1989 before moving into music full-time. In 1991, he co-founded the influential
DJ and production duo Kyoto Jazz Massive with his younger brother Yoshihiro
Okino. Their work helped pioneer the Japanese club jazz movement, blending
