Shoshana Damari
Shoshana Damari, born on March 31, 1923, in Bashar, Yemen, was an Israeli singer
known for her distinctive husky voice. She began performing at a young age and
made her first solo radio performance in August 1938. Damari's career took off
when she joined Li-La-Lo, a revue theater in 1945. During the War of
Independence, she sang notable songs such as "The Last Battle" and "Bat Sheva".
Her first record was released in 1948, featuring her best-known song "Kalaniyot"
