Sheik's
Sheiks, also known as Os Sheiks, was a Portuguese beat, pop, and rock band from
Lisbon, formed in 1963. The group was composed of Carlos Mendes, Fernando Chaby,
Paulo de Carvalho, and Jorge Barreto. The group initially performed at school
events and student parties, combining covers of international hits with original
compositions. In 1964, the band appeared on the radio program 23ª hora and
signed with Valentim de Carvalho, releasing several EPs between 1965 and 1967.
The group achieved international recognition with its second EP, featuring the
songs "Missing You" and "Tell Me ...
