Shaw, whose real name is Mehdi Chao, is a Moroccan rapper of Berber origin, born in 1993 in Sefrou and raised in Laâyoune. He draws inspiration from French and Moroccan rap, as well as from his cultural roots, to create music that blends French, English, Spanish and Moroccan dialect. In 2022, Shaw released the album Capharnaüm, which helped strengthen his presence on the Moroccan hip-hop scene.
