Shane Fenton & the Fentones
Shane Fenton & the Fentones were an English rock’n’roll group formed in
Mansfield in 1960, originally fronted by Johnny Theakston who adopted the stage
name Shane Fenton; after his untimely death at seventeen, Bernard Jewry assumed
the identity and led the band. The breakthrough came with the 1961 single "I'm a
Moody Guy", which entered the UK charts and peaked at number 22, followed by
"Walk Away" (1962) at number 38 and "It's All Over Now" (1962) at number 29 in
1962, with "Cindy's Birthday" (1962) reaching number 19. The band signed with
