Shalom Hanoch is an Israeli rock singer, lyricist, and composer who was born in
Kibbutz Mishmarot, Mandatory Palestine, in 1946. He is famous for being one of
the founders of Israeli rock and for his long-standing collaboration with Arik
Einstein, which produced some of the genre's earliest albums. Hanoch achieved
early professional recognition as a member of the kibbutz band HaMishmaron and
