Sergio Caputo
Sergio Caputo, born on August 31, 1954, in Rome, Italy, is a singer-songwriter
and guitarist. He started performing in local clubs, notably Folkstudio, while
studying at university. After earning a degree in architecture and working in
advertising, Caputo released his first single in 1978 and an eponymous EP in
1981. His breakthrough came with "Un sabato italiano", the title track of his
debut album Un sabato italiano, released in 1983, which combined jazz,
Latin-jazz pop, and 1950s Italian swing. Caputo participated in the Sanremo
Music Festival three times (1987, 1989, and 1998...
