Santiago del Nuevo Extremo, a Chilean musical ensemble formed in 1977 in
Santiago de Chile, initially comprised Luis Le-Bert, Pedro Villagra, Julio
Castillo, and Sebastián Dahm. The group emerged from the Faculty of Anthropology
at the University of Chile, evolving from an acoustic vocal ensemble with jazz
Latin influences to a fusion of diverse modern instruments. Their debut album, A
mi ciudad, was released in 1981 under the Alerce label, followed by Hasta
