Sandy Mosse was an American jazz tenor saxophonist. Mosse started playing
clarinet and alto saxophone before switching to tenor sax in the early 1950s.
Based in Chicago, Mosse toured internationally with artists like Wallace Bishop
and Woody Herman. In the late 1950s, Mosse collaborated with musicians such as
Bill Russo, Chubby Jackson, James Moody, and Cy Touff, co-leading the octet
Pieces of Eight. Mosse received awards from Down Beat and Playboy. In the 1960s,
