Sami Yusuf, born on July 21, 1980, in Tehran, Iran, is recognized as a British
singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer of Azerbaijani descent.
Raised in Ealing, West London, Yusuf developed an early interest in music,
learning to play the piano, violin, oud, setar, and tonbak. In 2003, he released
the debut album Al-Muʽallim, which became an international success in the Middle
