Sally Potter is a British film director, screenwriter, and musician born on September 19, 1949 in London, England. She began making amateur 8 mm films at age 14 and trained as a dancer and choreographer at the London Contemporary Dance School. As a musician and singer, she performed with the Feminist Improvising Group and collaborated with composer Lindsay Cooper on the song cycle Oh Moscow.
