SAI is a Japanese instrumental band formed in 2021 by keyboardist TAIHEI (Taihei
Sakurada) of Suchmos. Built around a core of four accomplished musicians—TAIHEI
(piano, Rhodes, synth, organ), trumpeter Yusuke Sase, bassist Keigo Iwami, and
drummer Chisho Matsuura—the group explores a genre-fluid sound rooted in jazz
while incorporating elements of blues, classical music, and house. Initially
conceived as a drumless trio, SAI expanded into its current four-piece formation
