Paul William "Sage" Francis was born on November 18, 1976, in Miami, Florida. He
is an American rapper who grew up in Providence, Rhode Island. At age eight,
Francis began writing and recording original lyrics inspired by acts such as Run
DMC and Public Enemy. His breakthrough moment came with the release of
"Makeshift Patriot" in 2001, which became an Internet hit for its critique of
American media following the September 11 attacks. Francis released his first
