Originally from Hobbs, New Mexico, where he was born on March 31, 1981, Ryan
Bingham grew up in Texas and worked on a ranch before turning to music. Nomadic
by nature, he traveled the region, making a name for himself in rodeo shows,
ending them with impromptu concerts with his guitar. His first self-produced
recordings attracted the attention of Lost Highway Records, which launched him
on a large scale with the album Mescalito (2007), produced by Marc Ford (The
Black Crowes), as did its successor Roadhouse Sun (2009). That same year, Ryan
