Royce Campbell, born June 7, 1952, in North Vernon, Indiana, was an American
jazz guitarist. At age nine, he discovered a love for rock and roll through
Chuck Berry's music, which led him to pick up the guitar. After finishing high
school in Spain, Campbell moved to Indianapolis to study under his uncle,
pianist Carroll DeCamp. His first significant tour was with Marvin Gaye before
joining the Henry Mancini orchestra at age 21, where he remained until Mancini's
