Royal Crown Revue, a band from Los Angeles, was formed in 1989 by Eddie Nichols,
James Achor, and Mando Dorame. Known for blending rockabilly, punk rock, blues,
and swing, their unique style was described as "hardboiled swing" or "gangster
bop." Their debut album, Kings of Gangster Bop, was released in 1991 on BYO
Records. The band contributed to the soundtrack of the 1994 film The Mask,
performing "Hey Pachuco". They also collaborated with Bette Midler on the song
"One Monkey don't stop no show".
