Rosendo Mercado Ruiz, born on February 23, 1954, in Madrid, Spain, is a Spanish
rock singer and songwriter. He started his career as a guitarist with the band
Fresa in 1972, which later became Ñu after José Carlos Molina joined. Following
his military service, Rosendo left Ñu to form Leño in 1978, serving as both
guitarist and vocalist alongside Chiqui Mariscal and Ramiro Penas. Their debut
album Leño was released in 1979, followed by Más madera in 1980 and a live
