Roscoe Shelton
Roscoe Shelton, born on August 22, 1931 in Lynchburg, Tennessee, was an American
singer known for his work in electric blues and soul music. He began his career
singing lead vocals with the Fairfield Four in 1949. After serving in the United
States Air Force, he joined the Skylarks and recorded for Nashboro Records. His
debut album Roscoe Shelton Sings was released by Excello in 1961. Notable
singles include "Strain on My Heart" (1964), which reached number 25 on the
