Rosario La Spina
Rosario La Spina is an Australian operatic tenor. Born in Brisbane, he is of
Sicilian descent. He worked as a bricklayer until a work accident at age 23 led
him to pursue singing lessons. La Spina studied at the Queensland
Conservatorium, where he won the Elizabeth Muir Memorial Prize in 1994. He later
attended the Royal Northern College of Music in England. In 2000, he won first
prize in a tenor competition at L'Accademia di La Scala, which led to his debut
at the opera house as the Messenger in Samson and Delilah. In 2002, he won the
