Ron Davies, born Ronny Wayne Dickerson on January 15, 1946, was an American
songwriter and musician. After he and his siblings were adopted by their
stepfather Darby Davies, he took the surname Davies. He began his professional
songwriting career at age 17, writing an album, Outburst!, for The Wailers. In
1970, Davies released his debut album Silent Song Through the Land on A&M
Records, which included the single “It Ain’t Easy.” The song was later recorded
by artists such as Three Dog Night and David Bowie. His later albums included U.
F. O. (1973) and I Don’t Believe It (1978). ...
