Roman Stewart, born on May 11, 1957 in Kingston, Jamaica, was a singer known for
his contributions to reggae music. He began his career at eleven with his first
single "Walking Down The Street" in 1968. Stewart gained recognition by winning
the Festival de la Canción in 1975 with "Hooray Festival", co-written by his
brother Tinga Stewart and Willie Lindo. In 1976, he released Hit Song and moved
to New York. Notable hits include "Rice and Peas" in 1979. Roman Stewart
recorded two duet albums with Tinga Stewart: Brother To Brother and Break Down
The Barrier, as well as a solo album...
