Rodney Crowell
While not strictly speaking a country music heavyweight, guitarist and
songwriter Rodney Crowell (born in Crosby, Texas, on August 7, 1950) is a
well-known figure in the genre. His early career was marked by his time with
Emmylou Harris’s Hot Band from 1975 to 1977, for whom he continued to write
regularly thereafter. He married Rosanne Cash in 1979; the couple divorced in
1991 but reunited from time to time. His solo career, which began in 1978 with
the album Ain’t Living Long Like This, continued alongside his collaborations.
