Roderich Kreile was born on December 17, 1956, in Munich, Germany. He studied
church music and choir conducting in Munich, passing his A-Examen. In 1981, he
became the A-Kantor at Christuskirche in Munich. From 1989 to 1996, Kreile
taught choir conducting at the Musikhochschule München, where he held a
professorship. He was appointed as Kirchenmusikdirektor in 1990 and led the
Philharmonischer Chor München starting 1994. In 1997, Kreile became the 28th
