Robert Lucas, born on July 25, 1962, in Long Beach, California, was an American
blues musician known for his roles as a singer, guitarist, and harmonica player.
He began playing harmonica at 13 and later took up slide guitar. In 1986, he
formed the band Luke & The Locomotives, releasing their album Luke and the
Locomotives in 1991. Notable releases as a solo artist include Built for Comfort
(1992), Layaway (1994), and Completely Blue (1997). Lucas joined Canned Heat in
1994, fronting the band and contributing to their 1999 album, Boogie 2000. He
