Rô Rosa, a rapper and songwriter from São José dos Campos in São Paulo state, started out in church choir and turned to writing his own material after periods living in Boston, returning to Brazil marked by family loss and a breakup; back home, he began composing on a guitar with only three strings and formed a band as his first step into music.
