Ríta Abatzí, born in 1914 in Smyrna (now İzmir), Ottoman Empire, was a Greek
singer known for her contributions to rebetiko music. She began her career in
the early 1930s and quickly became one of the most popular female singers of
rebetiko during that decade. Abatzí's recordings from this period include
collaborations with notable musicians such as Kostas Skarvelis, Spyros
Peristeris, Dimitrios Semsis, Markos Vamvakaris, and Vassilis Tsitsanis. Her
