Rising Appalachia
Rising Appalachia, an American folk music group led by sisters Leah Song and
Chloe Smith, was formed in 2005. The duo's first album, Leah & Chloe, recorded
in Atlanta, Georgia, gained unexpected support, leading to the establishment of
Rising Appalachia as a band. In 2007, they released their second album, Scale
Down. The group temporarily changed their name to R.I.S.E. and released the live
album Evolutions in Sound: Live in 2008. They reverted to Rising Appalachia in
