Richie Hawtin
Richard Hawtin, born in 1970 in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England, is a
British-Canadian DJ, record producer, and record executive. He moved to Canada
as a child and began DJing in Detroit clubs at 17, becoming involved in Detroit
techno's second wave alongside producers such as Daniel Bell, Robert Hood, and
Carl Craig. In 1989, he and John Acquaviva founded the Plus 8 record label to
release his own material under the alias F.U.S.E., issuing the debut album
Dimension Intrusion in 1993. That same year, he adopted the Plastikman alias,
releasing the single "Spastik" and the album Shee...
