Renée Elise Goldsberry, born January 2, 1971 in San Jose, California, is an
American singer and actress who began her artistic training at Carnegie Mellon
University and later earned a Master of Music in jazz studies from the
University of Southern California. Her early career featured the 2001 album
Everything But the Kitchen Sink and 2006 EP Beautiful, establishing her as a
jazz vocalist. In 2015, Goldsberry landed the role of Angelica Schuyler in
