João Geraldo Danese Silveira, known as Regis Danese, was born on April 2, 1973,
in Passos, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and began his musical path as a singer and
songwriter. After early work in sertanejo duets and composition for the pagode
group Só Pra Contrariar, he transitioned to contemporary Christian music
following a religious conversion. His solo career launched in 2004 with the
album O Meu Deus é Forte and he had his breakthrough with the album Compromisso
(2008) featuring the hit "Faz um Milagre em Mim", which earned a 2009 Grammy
