Michael Alec Anthony West, known professionally as Rebel MC and Congo Natty, was
born on August 27, 1964, in Islington, London, England. He is a British jungle
producer, spiritual chanter, and toaster who has also used various aliases such
as Conquering Lion, Blackstar, and Tribe of Issachar. In the late 1980s, he
formed the group Double Trouble with Michael Menson, Karl Brown, and Leigh
Guest. This collaboration led to two hip-house records reaching the UK Top 40 in
1989: "Just Keep Rockin'" and "Street Tuff", which peaked at Number 3 on the UK
