Rebecca Kilgore
Rebecca Louise Kilgore, born on September 24, 1949 in Waltham, Massachusetts,
was an American jazz vocalist. She performed with the Wholly Cats, releasing the
LP Doggin' Around in 1982. Kilgore collaborated with pianist Dave Frishberg,
yielding albums such as Looking at You (1994) and Not a Care in the World
(1996). She recorded more than 70 CDs, including a partnership with Hal Smith
and appearances on Arbors and Triangle labels. Kilgore received the Jazz Society
of Oregon Music Hall of Fame award in 2010 and the Portland Jazz Master honor in
2022, before passing away in hospice...
